Color

Last spring the iPhone/iPad application Color launched. The idea was to let users upload photos to the location-based application, where every user of the plattform could view a patchwork of photos from the same location. In other words, you could see photos from others in your area, without necessarily being a part of each others social networks. The idea was simple, yet confusing and it didn’t catch on and was taken down from the App Store.

The creators of the application have now returned with a new concept – an video-based application for Facebook. With this new application you can effortlessly upload videos to Facebook and your friends who use the application will get notified when a new video is uploaded.

The idea sounds promising, keeping in mind how things have evolved – Twitter made micro-blogging easier and Instagram made things even more comfortable  by letting people share photos to communicate their everyday life. But will the video format catch on as easily or will the new application become just another good idea that people just didn’t seem to care about?
